Greetings to all. My name is Liliana Morales and I was one of the recipients of the 2006 H.E.S.U.S. Fund. I must say it has been one of the greatest honors with which I have ever been bestowed because it has allowed me to truly expand my horizons much further than I could have ever imagined.
It has also given me a chance to get to know successful professionals who have great faith and support for the budding youth of today. I am currently beginning my second year of college at CUNY Hunter and looking forward to a very exciting semester, balanced between working as well. I am also preparing myself for law school. It is a challenging endeavor, which makes it all the more worthwhile. That is only one of the valuable lessons I have learned through the H.E.S.U.S. Fund. Congratulations to all of this year's recipients, I look forward to keeping in touch and knowing how everyone's goals are being nurtured and achieved. Also a big greeting to the H.E.S.U.S. members. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer.
Sincerely,
Liliana Morales |

Dear Hesus Funds members,
I, Martin Head, a 2003 recipient of the Hesus Fund Scholarship, am writing to update you. In 2006, a year after graduating from Lehman College, I began trading equities on the NYSE with Lynx Capital Partners, a proprietary trading firm. Currently I am studying for the GMAT and will hopefully be applying to The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business to major in finance for the fall of 08'. To the current recipients (2007), please continue to work hard and strive to make way for future recipients.
Thank You, and Good Luck.

Hi all,
This is Snigdha, or Sita, as some of you might remember, from last Tuesday's reception. I just wanted to take the time to thank you all again for this great scholarship. It takes care of an entire semester at school and I still have a good amount to save.
I opend up my first bank account yesterday and deposited the money. I felt really good doing it.
Anyway, have a wonderful week and keep in touch.
Thank you again and again,
Sita

Kervin,
As usual, the Hesus Fund reception was a lovely event. I'm glad all the guys were so impressed by the scholarship recipients. It's a funny thing -- while they are all extraordinary young people, they are also very ordinary. At the All Stars, we have found that there are so many young people who, if given the chance, have enormous potential to become leaders and shine. That's why our focus is the "bottom 90%," the kids who don't have access to the programs that help the top 10% but who are yearning to learn and develop and expand their worlds.
Thanks again to the Hesus Fund for helping to give young people that chance!
Best,
Fran Miller

Hello Mr. Simms,
Its been a while since spoken, so I just wanted to drop you line letting you know how I am doing. First, let me just express my gratitude for the opportunity that the Hesus Fund helped me obtain. Currently I am a senior IP litigation paralegal at Willkie Farr and Gallagher LLP. I have been a paralegal for about 6 years now, since graduating from Skidmore College in 2001. I have Law School in the horizon, but I am just working to get my mind committed to the amount of hard work it will take to make that a reality. I visited the website and it’s a great thing to know that there are more students being helped by the program. So thank you again Kervin for the chance, and I'm sorry I do not golf but perhaps I can attend another event in the future.

Martin Head
I, Martin Head, was a recipient of the Hesus Fund
award in the summer of 2003, while going into my junior
year of college. Even though I worked full time, I still
couldn’t afford the cost of living and paying
for school. The Hesus Fund came to my rescue during
the spring semester of 2003. The award enabled me to
pay for rising tuition in full. I am a recent graduate
with a B.A. of Arts in Economics from Lehman College.
I hope the Hesus Fund can continue to aid students such
as me who look forward to a better future. I am currently
working full time, and studying to take the LSAT this
fall.
Thank You.

P.S. - I also hope to go golfing with you guys one day. |

Dear Hesus Fund,
The HESUS Fund has shown itself to be a blessing to
me for many reasons. It aided in providing me with the
financial assistance I needed to invest in school supplies,
including a laptop, books, (which totaled more than
I could afford on my own), as well as being a much needed
addition to the payment of my overall tuition bill.
This fall, I am entering my second year as a sophomore
at Cornell University and am in good academic standing.
I am truly thankful that I was able to receive the award
last year because it lightened the burden of having
enough money to afford a pricey institution like Cornell,
and more of my attention could be aimed toward achieving
my scholastic goals.
As a result, I am fortunate and relieved that I have
been able to maintain the grades I needed to successfully
move a year closer to medical school. I can say without
a doubt that the HESUS fund lightened the load for me
in more than one way.
More recently, I’ve started to work at Montefiore
Medical Center, where the specialty is Nuclear Medicine.
It has given me the chance to become acquainted and
network with a slew of doctors. In the near future,
I anticipate volunteering at a hospital where I can
enrich my experiences in the medical field.
This first year at Cornell has done more than made me
a little smarter, it has made me a little wiser. I have
become a more seasoned young adult because of the experiences
I’ve had there. Meeting new people, joining clubs
and volunteering to help my colleagues are merely some
of the activities I took part in. I am hoping and aiming
for an even better upcoming year and college career.
I thank you for helping me to prepare for my first year
at Cornell, and I wish the very best to the new recipients
of the HESUS award.
Sincerely,
Deidre Diaz
